The textiles of Miomafo district in Timor are renowned for their rich indigo and intricate ikat. This shoulder cloth, called a beit ana, is traditionally used by women for ceremonies and special occasions.

Its striking motif, known as manu, represents a chicken, which are vitally important in local ceremonies and rituals. With its rich indigo and exceptional precision, a piece such as this would take up to three months to make.

At almost two metres long, it would work wonderfully as a table runner or worn as a scarf.
