The motif on this pillow is called kawung which refers to the Javanese symbol for balance much like the Yin Yang symbol of China. The word suwung means empty or free from earthly desires that often create disharmony such as greed. The back panel is made from a handspun cotton fabric woven in Java and dyed rust using Ceriops tagal a bark that is sustainably harvested from Papua.
These cushions would be exquisite on a couch, chair or bed. Each cushion cover comes with an inner lining with zipper so all that is required is for you to add the Dacron and enjoy your handmade pillow.
