The textiles from the area of Giriloyo in Central Java are stunning in their use of dark indigo and deep browns. For this 2 meter batik, the artist uses a hand drawing technique to apply the wax pattern that will resist the dye. After each dye process the batik artist will re-apply wax to achieve another level of colour.

This classic batik will grace any home as a bed throw or table covering.
