Cilai Gantung is the traditional textile worn by the Dayak Desa men of West Kalimantan for ceremonies. The mordanting process to achieve the red dye is complex as it requires many different plants from the forest and must be performed with a ritual. The Dayak textiles have always been highly regarded for their unique designs, many of which were originally woven from dreams. The motif Pelangka refers to traditional tool that removed rice husks before there were machines. A pelangka is also used by a medium or tabib to repel evil spirits. Tiang kebuk refers to a peg or pillar that is used during construction. Ropes are tied to the peg, a syste, which is used to support a strengthen buildings.
