Cilai Gantung is the traditional textile worn by the Dayak Desa men of West Kalimantan for ceremonies. The mordanting process to achieve the red dye is complex as it requires many different plants from the forest and must be performed with a ritual. The Dayak textiles have always been highly regarded for their unique designs, many of which were originally woven from dreams. The motif bandung refers to a large boat with a cabin that uses a motor. Bandung berumpak refers to when the bandung is used as a sort of ferry or barge which carries goods such as salt, tobacco and oil up and downstream.
