Colours of Timor

This cushion cover is made by the weavers of Amanuban in Timor using cotton fibers in a supplementary warp wrap patterning technique that have been dyed black with mud dyes and tannins. The solid coloured back panel of this cushion is made from commercial cotton and woven by the community of weavers in Timor and dyed with mud dyes.

The motif on this cushion lan mese means the way of the ancestor and implies if you follow a path with an open heart and remain aware of the connection we have with all life that your life path will be smooth. This time consuming technique called buna requires a wrapping of warp threads to create the motif.

These handmade natural dyed cushions would be exquisite on a couch, chair or bed. Each cushion cover comes with an inner lining with zipper so all that is required is for you to add the dacron and enjoy your handmade pillow.
