This cushion cover is made entirely from a single traditional cloth called rangrang. The word rangrang in Balinese translates as space or hole in Balinese. Traditionally these rangrang textiles would be used for ritual dance. The holes are the space that the dancer is able to connect with the deities and the closed section insures that she stays in her body in this world. A slit tapestry weave technique is used to create this open pattern. The patterns are all individually designed by the weaver. The back panel is handspun cotton woven on a backstrap loom in Java and dyed with Ceriops tagal in the Threads of Life Dye Studio.

These handmade natural dyed cushions would be exquisite on a couch, chair or bed. Each cushion cover comes with an inner lining with zipper so all that is required is for you to add the Dacron.

Front panel slit tapestry weave, natural dyes, cotton and woven in Seraya, Bali, 2024. Back panel silk with pattern. Size 59 x 42 cm / 23 x 16.5 in
