Exquisite Timorese Red

This cushion is made up of the traditional cloth using a ikat technique made by the weavers in Amarasi in West Timor. The deep red colour was achieved through multiple applications in a dye bath using the bark of the root of Morinda citrifolia after having been mordanted so that the red dye adheres to the threads. The solid coloured backing is made by the weavers from Hamba Parengu Sumba.

The motif on this cushion is called kret pan buat refers to a serrated leaf pattern found on a small box. 

These handmade natural dyed cushions would be exquisite on a couch, chair or bed. Each cushion cover comes with an inner lining with zipper so all that is required is for you to add the Dacron and enjoy your handmade pillow.
