With vibrant rust-red coloring, the front panel, or kepala, of this batik contains an exquisite bouquet of flowers and flitting birds and butterflies. The mostly white background may be jasmine blossoms, melati, or possibly the yin yang kawung motif.
The traditional double border featuring the small siret strip at the edge and the floral vine above is said to protect the wearer. Signed by the creator, Yap Loen Tik, this antique batik is in good condition with a few small holes.
