This stunning handspun textile from the stronghold of culture in Timor would hang elegantly on a wall or as a bed throw. In Boti the women learn still learn from an early age how to spin cotton into thread and dye and weave a textile as they see textiles as a vital expression of their culture. It’s important that we support these women and the continuation of these rare arts.

The supplementary warp motif on this textile is called Biklusu, Biklusu or biklu'u is a small gecko.

Floating warp patterning, two panels stitched together and sewn as a tube, handspun cotton, natural dyes. Dyed and woven in Boti, Timor, 2014. Size 95 x 63 cm / 37.5 x 25 in
