This exquisite deep red woman's sarong with the stunning supplementary patterning will be beautiful hung on a wall or laid at the end of a bed. The ikat motif is a habak or flower that when it is dreamed is said to contain inspiration of a lifetime for a weavers work. The supplementary motif is called wala kanuru or a palm flower that is used to make the traditional palm sugar used in cooking.

A lau is worn as a tube by a Sumbanese woman and the ends of the cloth are held in place under her arm.
