The motif on this cushion kenanga ginubah is the lovely scented blossom of the Ylang ylang flower. This motif is a reminder to not waste the sweetness of life and your own special abilities but to use them – smile throughout the day and take on your burdens with a light heart.
The batik work is from Tuban which is on the northern coast of Java where trade with India, Arabia and China was carried on for centuries. In Tuban weavers still collect their own cotton and spin it into thread which they weave into cloth and batik designs using a wax resist technique. The back panel is handspun cotton also from Tuban.
These cushions would be exquisite on a couch, chair or bed. Each cushion cover comes with an inner lining with zipper so all that is required is for you to add the Dacron and enjoy your handmade pillow.
