Every Indonesian textile and craft come to live through the weaver's love and care for their culture and the deep connection they feel with their homeland. Their dedication and warmth give meaning to what we do at Threads of Life.
The act of giving is an extension of care and connection.
This season, we celebrate enduring relationships that nourish us — to the land, to the weaving communities, to the traditions that shape our lives. These textiles and crafts are our mementos of those journeys. They capture the warm hues of sunsets in Lembata, the heat of steep hills in Timor, the warmth we feel when sharing a meal or a cup of coffee with the weaving communities, and the tenderness of returning home. We invite you and your loved ones to celebrate cherished connections with us, through the beauty of giving and receiving.
These limited, exclusive gift sets feature pieces that are only available in our gallery and store in Ubud. Offered as a seasonal bundle, this is the only time these items are available on our website.
On the island of Lembata, villages sit along volcanic slopes where weaving remains part of everyday life. The senai textile and hebeng basket are made by hand using various plants as dye and fibre materials. They reflect the artistry of Lembata’s people and the enduring connections and rituals that strengthen their community.
Across Timor’s dry, sunlit landscapes, indigo traditions continue to flourish. Weaving here is a tradition that has travelled through centuries, brought by early traders and sustained by generations of women. The beit ana textile and koro mama basket are made by hands, dyed using natural dyes drawn from the island’s soil and plants. This gift set carries the beauty of Timor’s landscapes and the depth of its indigo heritage.
