The Indigo ikat panel on this pillow was made by the weavers of the area of Insana in West Timor who are known for their indigo work and intricate ikat. The solid coloured backing is made by the weavers from Hamba Parengu Sumba.
The motif on this cushion is called beso or frogs stacked one on the other. Frogs are a symbol of the ancestor. When Timorese pray for rain, the frog appears, a sign that the ancestor has answered their prayers.
This handmade natural dyed cushion would be exquisite on a couch, chair or bed. Each cushion cover comes with an inner lining with zipper so all that is required is for you to add the Dacron and enjoy your handmade pillow.
