Patterns used in traditional textiles are very specific in their meaning and use. The motif on this cushion is called tosso balekoan which represents a niddy-noddy that is used for making skeins of yarn after being spun from cotton.

Each textile is tied, dyed and woven by a single woman from the area known as Karataun in Sulawesi. The solid rust color backing is made from handspun cotton and woven on a backstrap loom in Java and dyed with Ceriops tagal in the Threads of Life Dye Studio.

These cushions would be exquisite on a couch, chair or bed. Each cushion cover comes with an inner lining with zipper so all that is required is for you to add the Dacron and enjoy your handmade pillow.
