This stunning cushion cover is made from handwoven textiles from Sumba from the well known weaving centre of Rindi. The ikat motif on the front panel cushion is called kara wulang, or hawksbill turtle which symbolizes fertility, as turtles lay many eggs. This motif often appears with the crocodile which is the male counterpart. The back panel is made by handspun cotton from Tuban.

These cushions would be exquisite on a couch, chair or bed. Each cushion cover comes with an inner lining with zipper so all that is required is for you to add the Dacron and enjoy your handmade pillow.

Front panel Ikat with natural dyes on cotton and woven in Sumba, 2022. Back panel handspun cotton handwoven in Tuban, Java. 2021. Size 53 x 41 cm / 21 x 16 in
