The woman’s sarong that is used to make these cushions is known as Ei Worapi. It is tied, dyed and woven by a single woman from Savu. The cloth colours are very colorfast as they have been properly dyed with indigo and Morinda citrifolia.
Patterns such as this katadu mara musical instrument used in traditional textiles are very specific in their meaning and use. The solid rust color backing is made from handspun cotton and woven on a backstrap loom in Java and dyed with Ceriops tagal in the Threads of Life Dye Studio.

These cushions would be exquisite on a couch, chair or bed. Each cushion cover comes with an inner lining with zipper so all that is required is for you to add the Dacron and enjoy your handmade pillow.
