Made from natural dyed handwoven textiles from South Sulawesi, the ikat motif on the front panel of these cushion covers is called tonoling. The name of a compound near the district of Rongkong to the north of the Karataun weaver group, tonoling refers to the relationship formed through marriage between the two areas and the importance of community connections. Dyed with mud and tannins to achieve a rich black, the handspun cotton backing makes these cushion covers striking from each side.
Exquisite on a couch, chair or bed, the covers have an inner lining with zipper for easy insertion of a cushion or soft fiber.
