The motif on this cushion is called tumba-tumba refers to a spear head or sharp point. These important objects find their way into traditional textiles due to their cultural importance not only for daily use but also as gift exchanges at marriage.
This cushion is made up of a stunning traditional cloth woven on Sulawesi using natural dyes and traditional ikat motifs. The solid coloured backing is made by the weavers from Hamba Parengu in East Sumba using the brilliant indigo dye process for which they are famous.
These cushions would be exquisite on a couch, chair or bed. They are reversible if you want to present a more quiet look. Each cushion cover comes with an inner lining with zipper so all that is required is for you to add the Dacron and enjoy your handmade pillow.
