Patterns used in traditional textiles are very specific in their meaning and use. The traditional textile used to make these cushion covers is called Morilotong, which contains the Totandung motif. Totandung is said to be the oldest known motif by the To Mangki weavers from Karautaun, representing the sentiment of celebrating and appreciating successes.

Each textile is tied, dyed, and woven by a woman from the area known as Karautaun in Sulawesi. The back panel is handspun cotton woven on a backstrap loom in Java and dyed with Ceriops tagal in the Threads of Life Dye Studio.

Each cushion cover comes with an inner lining with a zipper so that all that is required is for you to add the Dacron and enjoy your handmade pillow.

Front panel ikat from Sulawesi uses natural dyes on cotton. The back panel is handspun cotton with natural dyes and woven in Java, 2023. Size: 50 x 39 cm / 19.5 x 15.5 in.
