The Threads of Life Lontar Collection is a collaboration between with Hatiku Indonesia to create this high-quality leather bag integrating natural dyed traditional textiles from across the Indonesian Archipelago.
We call it the Lontar Collection as the lontar tree (Barassus flabelifer) is the considered a keystone species in the dry islands of Eastern Indonesia. The Lontar palm provides a family or clan with nutritional sweet nectar water, sugar that can be stored, basketmaking, building material for houses and as fencing for animals.
The natural dyed linen is dyed by Threads of Life using rust (Ceriops tagal). One side is finished with patches of natural dyed textiles that are artistically stitched down using the Japanese Boro technique. This is an elegant understated bag for any occasion and fits your laptop. Size 45 x 4 x 35 cm / 17.5 x 1.5 x 14 in
