The Threads of Life Lontar Collection is a collaboration between with Hatiku Indonesia to create this high-quality beach bag integrating natural dyed traditional textiles from across the Indonesian Archipelago.
We call it the Lontar Collection as the lontar tree ( Barassus flabelifer ) is the considered a keystone species in the dry islands of Eastern Indonesia. The Lontar palm provides a family or clan with nutritional sweet nectar water, sugar that can be stored, basketmaking, building material for houses and as fencing for animals.
The natural dyed cotton is dyed by Threads of Life using Indigo (Stobilanthes cusia) and mud dye. You will be surprised what you can fit in this robust bag and look elegant. Size 47 x 19 x 40 cm / 18.5 x 7.5 x 15.5 in
