The interplay of circles within rectangles and rectangles within circles forms a truly intriguing design, which is given depth by the strong dark indigo and rich chocolate brown created by master dyers of Solo, Central Java.

The artist behind this design called it Lilo, which refers to coming to terms with or surrendering to life and all of its difficulties and hardships. The name is written in Javanese script on the bottom of the textile.
