The diamond motif is called Befajak that represents a betelnut basket. These baskets containing betelnut and lime are offered to visitors before any conversation as a show of respect. This senai is from Tapobali, a quiet village located in the south of Lembata.

This dreamy earth-red shoulder cloth is a testament to the revival of traditional weaving in southern Lembata near Lamalera. This shoulder scarf represents Threads of Life’s early efforts to revive traditionally produced textiles where natural dye techniques had all but vanished.
