This powerful textile with the deep red and blue centrefield stripes and fascinating motifs shows off Rindi East Sumba textiles at its best. The lions at the bottom of the cloth with stars at their feet contain human Dutch faces an influence of the centuries of trade to Holland and coins with rampant lions. Above these motifs are royal deer with crowns and cockatoos and vipers suggesting community and potency. This would be beautiful as a piece of art on a wall or as a throw. A fascinating discussion piece for generations to come.
Information about the makers will be supplied with each cloth.
