The time consuming supplementary warp wrap patterning on this textile is called ma’kaif refers to a hooked pattern symbolizing interconnectedness between the worlds of the ancestor, nature and society. These ties need to be recognized, strengthened and honored for there to be true well being with a community. This motif is handed down from generation to generation from grandmothers to grand daughters.

The threads that are used by the weaver to create these patterns are all naturally dyed. The weaver creates the pattern as she wraps her weft threads without any pre-drawn design.

This unique textile is lovely as a decor, the sharp monochrome pattern fits perfectly with wooden interiors.
