This ikat textile with the bold patterns of mak'aif or hooks refers to the interconnectedness of all beings; ancestor, people and realm of the more than human. We are delighted to have this textile offered at Threads of Life as this community was one of the first we started to work with in 1999. There are reasons and seasons and all that said we are just happy to be re-connected to these weavers. This will be a beautiful accent to any room or worn. Biboki is one of the cultural groups in Timor that is known for this type of patterning and these colours. We hope there will be textiles for many days to come from this group of talented weavers.
Information about the makers will be supplied with each cloth.
