This cushion is made up of the traditional cloth using a ikat technique made by the weavers in Flores. The back panel is made from handspun cotton and woven on a backstrap loom then dyed to a deep rust using sustainably harvested Ceriops tagal bark from Papua. Threads of Life works to sustain all traditional weaving and natural dye techniques made by generations gone before while maintaining healthy eco-systems.

These cushion covers features a motif called matarote rego which symbolizes the huge climber liana plant (Entada phaseoloides) and considered to be the stairs to heaven used by the gods to move between heaven and earth.

These handmade natural dyed cushions would be exquisite on a couch, chair or bed. Each cushion cover comes with an inner lining with zipper so all that is required is for you to add the dacron and enjoy your handmade pillow.
