The area where this textile is made adjoins the borders of Oecuese Timor Leste where the Portuguese influence of the past can still be seen in motifs depicting angels, and flowers. Women wear these textiles as shoulder cloths for attending church services. Threads of Life encourages the continuation of using old traditional patterns such as kai mnutu that suggests the deep interconnection that society has to the earth, each other and the diving.

Wearing this textile as a scarf allows you to tell the story of the origins of these motifs and its historical connections. Or use as a table accent in your home.

Information about the makers will be supplied with each cloth.
