Patokko is the name for this unusual traditional hat woven from bamboo and rattan. It was made in the mountains of Batu Lelleng which a day trip to the west of Rantepao in Central Toraja. A patokko is worm by noblewoman from the Sada'an area of Toraja for traditional ceremonies such as funerals and weddings. This hat is not only funtional but a piece of art as well.
