This extraordinary four and half meter pori londong is a single panel with a mix of the important ikat motifs on it. Pori means ikat and londong means long cloth. The central motif on this textile include; tobo sepu, tobo means carving and sepu refers to the betelnut bag carried by women that contains the lime, betelnut and sirih leaf for chewing betel. It is polite to always offer betelnut by both the host and visitor. The tobo sepu motif is also found on the walls of the traditional rice barn. Other motifs include; tonoling, the name of a compound near Rongkong to the north of the Karataun weaver group. This motif is a reminder of the importance of relationships. Tosso balekoan which represents a niddy-noddy that is used for making skeins of yarn after being spun from cotton and Rapang is the name of an arid area located high in the mountains near Batuisi where people would hide during the Dutch colonial rule and lelen sepu a betelnut container.

This is a rare textile especially as it is all made and spun from hand picked cotton. Its detailed work and excellent depth of colour make this a true collector piece.
