Mau Naek is a three part man’s hip cloth with a center panel made with all ikat patterning and the same motif appearing in the bands on the two side panels. This textile is worn for ceremonies and special occasions. The weavers of Amanuban have a wide range of textiles with various techniques including ikat, supplementary warp wrap called buna and supplementary warp patterning called sotis.

The ikat motif on this textile is called makai bia suna ana refers to a small hooked motif and representing interconectedness.
