The Shoulder cloth that is used to make these cushions is known as higi wo tellu. It is tied, dyed and woven by a single woman from Savu. The cloth colours are very colorfast as they have been properly dyed with indigo. The back panel is a hearty handspun cotton woven on a backstop loom in Java.
Patterns used in traditional textiles are very specific in their meaning and use.
These cushions would be exquisite on a couch, chair or bed. Each cushion cover comes with an inner lining with zipper so all that is required is for you to add the Dacron and enjoy your handmade pillow.
